Our Patient Experience and Engagement Strategy was developed with and for patients, alongside colleagues from across the Trust.
From this in-depth engagement exercise, 14 key themes emerged which have formed the basis for our delivery plan:
- Discharge processes
- Food and drink
- Respect and dignity
- Clean environment and facilities
- Medication clarity
- Caring workforce
- Faster diagnostics and healthcare
- Improved communication
- Transport and access to services
- Digital access and technology
- Opportunities for feedback
- Holistic care
- Spiritual and religious needs
- Equitable and accessible services
Chief Nurse, Kelly McGovern said: “Ultimately, our vision is to create an inclusive, compassionate, and patient-centred healthcare experience where every patient, carer, and family member feels heard, respected, and valued. Everyone will play a part in delivering this, patient or non-patient facing and I look forward to improving patient experience here at West Herts."
“Much of the work outlined in this plan is already underway, and the strategy has served to highlight the enormous talent, skill and compassion that our wonderful colleagues show on a day-to-day basis.”
