Paying for parking

Our payment machines currently only take coins, or you can pay via the Saba Parking app.

The Saba Parking App can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play store. Once installed, just search for the name of the hospital you wish to park at.

Free and discounted parking

Free parking is available for:

  • Next of kin of patients who are receiving end of life care or critical care
  • Parents/carers of children who are inpatients
  • Long-term patients who have three or more planned appointments per month, over a 90-day period.

Claim forms are available from wards and clinics. The ward staff will authorise the form which you must then take to the parking office.

Discount parking rates are available for patients and visitors who attend frequently. You can apply for a weekly or monthly parking permit at discounted rates of £24 per week or £48 per month.

Discounted rates can only be applied on the day and for future parking. We cannot give refunds for payments already made at the full rates.

Disabled and blue badge parking

There are disabled parking spaces on all our sites and blue badges need to display it in the usual way at all our sites. Failure to do so could result in a penalty charge.

If using the multi-storey car park at Watford General Hospital, take a ticket when arriving at the barrier. When leaving, insert your ticket into a payment machine and then scan the barcode from your blue badge. You can also do this at the exit barrier.

Parking offices

  • Watford General Hospital – Level 0 of the multi-storey car park.
  • Hemel Hempstead Hospital – Blue hut located on level 3, Verulam Wing to the side of the entrance.
