Benefits
At West Herts, our aim is to foster a culture where all staff feel that their voices are heard and acted upon.
Our staff have a number of ways to have their say.
National staff survey
National staff survey – once a year, staff are asked to spend 15 minutes completing the national staff survey. This in-depth, confidential survey provides us with really valuable feedback from our workforce. We analyse the results, take on board suggestions and work to make improvements that will have a positive impact on your experience at work.
The most recent national staff survey results put us ahead of all other acute trusts in London!
Pulse survey
Pulse survey – every quarter, staff are able complete the pulse survey which is a quick five minute check in to provide an update to how are doing.
Live for Five
Live for Five – every month, we host a live online session which includes an update from our Chief Executive, as well as question and answer session hosted by our Chief People Officer. Staff are able to anonymously submit any questions for our executive team to answer.
Shared professional decision making (SPDM)
Shared professional decision making (SPDM) – our SPDM councils empower frontline staff to have a voice in the decision-making process within their areas of practice. If you have ideas to help improve patient care, ensure safety, promote a good caring environment or to improve staff experience, we want to hear them!
Freedom to speak up
Freedom to speak up - speaking up about any concern you have at work is really important. In some instances, you may feel worried about raising a concern, and that’s where our Freedom to speak up guardian and champions come in. They will look into your concern and you will always have access to the support you need.
