Before you start
Wherever possible, we strive to ensure your first day with us starts with our Trust welcome. This consists of a Trust welcome induction session and series of classroom based mandatory training sessions to start you off with the vital information that you need, as well as a tour of our site.
Clinical staff will have face-to-face sessions on fire and evacuation, blood transfusion, adult basic life support, patient moving and handling, blood glucose monitoring and learning disability.
Non-clinical staff will have a face-to-face fire and evacuation session.

At the Trust welcome, you will receive your trust ID badge, please wear this at all times.
IT network logins and email addresses will be sent to you before you start by our recruitment team.
Parking is available on all of our hospital sites and staff require a parking permit. This is a charged at 1.05% of your salary and deducted from your pay each month.
Please register a week before you start. To register, please visit the staff permit portal.
You will be asked for your payroll number when completing the application, please enter the word 'NEW'.
There are two types of e-permits available:
Everyone is eligible to register for a standard e-permit. Essential Red permits are restricted to operational consultants and directors.

Following on from the Trust welcome session, you'll be invited to a number of follow up sessions designed for us to support you throughout your first months at the trust to help you settle into your role. The sessions will be delivered online via Microsoft Teams.
End of month one - The first session is to see how you are settling into your new role. This session is run by the Recruitment team.
End of month three - The second session is to share our equality, diversity and inclusion and health and wellbeing support and offers. This session is run by our EDI and Wellbeing leads.
End of month seven - The third session is to prepare for your appraisals and inform you of career development opportunities available, through external, as well as internal courses. This session is run by the Learning and Development and Talent teams.
