About
Your physiotherapist will start by taking a detailed history about your problem. They will also ask a number of questions about your medical history to allow them to tailor your treatment appropriately. They will then carry out an examination.
This examination may include assessing your posture, movements and strength as well as testing specific joints, tendons and ligaments. From the information gained in both parts of your assessment, your physiotherapist will explain their clinical diagnosis and options for treatment.
You are more than welcome to bring a chaperone (a guide or companion) with you for any appointments.
If you are taking any medication, it may be worthwhile bringing a list with you.
Your initial consultation can last 45 - 60 minutes depending on the type of appointment.
Your follow-up appointment will take approximately 30 minutes and is based upon the treatment plan agreed with your physiotherapist in order to achieve your goals and prevent reoccurrence.
Sessions generally consist of both highly-skilled manual therapy together with specific exercise rehabilitation to activate and strengthen your muscles.
To assess you properly your physiotherapist may need you to undress down to your underwear. Please bring shorts because they may be suitable for some treatments. Depending on the area of pain, you may wish to bring vest top.
Our team of physiotherapists offers a wide range of treatments, tailored to treat your condition as effectively as possible. These treatments may include:
