Biography
I initially trained as a dental surgeon at the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff, before retraining and qualifying in medicine at King’s College, London. After dental school, I commenced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery and then subsequently completed basic surgical training after medical school with a view to continuing in maxillofacial surgery. I decided to change specialities rather late in my career and joined the south Thames training programme in emergency medicine where I also completed sub-speciality training in paediatric emergency medicine at St Thomas’ Hospital/Evelina Children’s Hospital. I qualified as a consultant in 2012.
Prior to being appointed a consultant at Watford in 2021, I was the clinical lead in emergency medicine at Kingston Hospital, Surrey. I am currently the Speciality Tutor for emergency medicine and the departmental education lead with responsibility for the local education/teaching program in emergency medicine and supervision of undergraduate medical students.
I was appointed as one of the medical examiners for West Hertfordshire in September 2022.
I am also an Assistant Professor and Clerkship Director (UK Faculty of Emergency Medicine), St George's University School of Medicine, Grenada.
