Biography
Dr Krista Farrell is a Consultant Neurologist at the West Hertfordshire Teaching hospitals NHS Trust and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. She is the Clinical Lead for Neurology at West Herts and an Honorary Lecturer in Clinical Neurology at University College London. In 2024, she was elected to the council of the Association of British Neurologists. She completed her undergraduate medical training at Trinity College, Cambridge, and has an MA in Experimental Psychology. Her psotgraduate training took place on the East of England and London neurology rotations.
She was a research fellow at the Cambridge Centre for Brain Repair working on biomarkers and novel therapeutics for Parkinson’s Disease and completed her higher specialist training in teaching hospitals in Cambridge and London. She is currently a member of the clinical advisory board for the charity Parkinson’s Care and Support U.K.
Dr Farrell maintains a keen interest in medical education. She currently coordinates the teaching program for junior neurologists at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and has lectured on a postgraduate medical course. She is a course committee member for the UCL undergraduate course in neurology and contributed to the development of the neurology curriculum at the new Brunel Medical School.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys the study of foreign languages, classical piano and dance.
