Biography

I was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at West Herts in July 2020. My special interests include cornea, cataract and emergency ophthalmology. I have had excellent ophthalmic training having held training posts at the Tennent Institute in Glasgow, St Thomas’ and Moorfields Eye hospital. I was fortunate enough to be awarded a prestigious NIHR academic clinical lectureship during my training which allowed me to complete a PhD in ocular immunology at Imperial College London and continue post-doctoral basic science research at UCL alongside my clinical training. I was awarded the prestigious Royal College Foulds Trophy for my basic science research in 2010.
My vast research experience has given me a unique skill set and together with my 18 month subspecialist fellowship in cornea and external eye diseases at Moorfields eye Hospital has allowed me to become a highly skilled and knowledgeable cornea and cataract surgeon. I have maintained close links with Moorfields which allows me to provide an excellent service for my patients.

I have held leadership positions including currently being the Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology as well as clinical governance lead.
