Biography

I completed my specialist training in general internal medicine and Geriatric medicine in 2009 before taking up a Substantive Consultant appointment as a Consultant Geriatrician with an Interest in Stroke medicine at University College London and North Middlesex University Hospitals.

I joined West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2014 as the Head of Stroke Services and was appointed Clinical Director for Medicine for the Elderly and Stroke Directorate in October 2020.

Over the last 9 years, I have overseen an expansion in Consultant workforce and the significant improvements in the Hospital’s Stroke performance.
I have multiple areas of interests including all aspects of general and geriatric medicine, assessment of the older adult with complex medical problems, Stroke and Transient ischaemic attacks.
Over the last 3 years as a Clinical Director, I have been involved in devising strategies and plans for my directorate in accordance with the medicine division and overall hospital’s strategy.
I have responsibility for budgeting, resource allocation , consultant recruitment, writing clinical guidelines and ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards.

I am a member of the British association of Stroke Physicians and a Royal College of Physicians Representative
