Biography

Dr Mandalia currently works as a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest in Paediatric and Musculoskeletal Radiology. He is one of the few doctors who specialises in Paediatric Musculoskeletal Radiology and guided joint injections in children. His NHS practice is based at Watford General and he is the sub-specialty lead for Paediatric Radiology in the East of England Deanery.

Before becoming a radiologist Dr Mandalia trained as a paediatrician at the Evelina Children’s and the Royal London Hospitals. He has worked as a registrar in paediatrics and neonatal intensive care.

He completed his core radiology training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and went on to further sub-specialise in musculoskeletal and paediatric radiology. He completed an honorary fellowships in musculoskeletal radiology at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and Central Middlesex hospitals and a fellowship in paediatric radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

He has worked as an Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Neuroradiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He works as a Paediatric/Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Hillingdon Hospital, Clementine Churchill Hospital and Bushey Spire.

Dr Mandalia is passionate about teaching. He has lectured on multiple
courses on both musculoskeletal and paediatric radiology and has taught a wide
range of audiences from physios, doctors, radiographers, and medical students. He was awarded ‘Teacher of the Year’ in 2018 by his NHS trust and awarded for ‘Excellence in Teaching’ in 2022 by Health Education England.

He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences including the Radiological Society of North America.

He is the digital lead for radiology at West Herts NHS trust and has been at the forefront of implementation of new AI tools across the region.
