Biography

Dr Vyas read medicine at University of Sheffield Medical School and graduated in 2002. His initial post-graduate training was in the West Midlands, and he moved to London in 2007 to complete Higher Specialist Training. Following completion, Dr Vyas further specialised in Paediatric Allergy before obtaining his substantive NHS Consultant appointment at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

In 2018, he graduated from University College London with a Master of Science degree in Advanced Paediatrics completing his final thesis analysing Anaphylaxis trends in the United Kingdom.

Dr Vyas has a keen interest in education, and he is a Training Programme Director for Foundation Trainees at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust. He has an interest in simulation training and is a Paediatric Advanced Life Support Course trainer. He provides a range of General Paediatric and Paediatric Allergy related educational lectures to GPs and other medical practitioners on a regular basis.

Along with the development of local NHS services, Dr Vyas has played a key role in improving the provision of allergy care, both regionally and nationally. Currently, he is involved in the British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Working Group establishing National Service Standards for the delivery of high-quality allergy care. He has also recently been involved with writing guidance for national implementation of peanut immunotherapy on the NHS as well as the largest National Survey of Allergy Provisions across the United Kingdom.
