Biography
Mr Stanciu is a specialist gynaecological surgeon with a broad international experience gained in some of the best hospitals across Europe.
Mr Stanciu completed his training and was granted CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2014 from the University of Medicine in Timisoara, Romania. He has subsequently worked and trained in hospitals in Romania, Germany, Ireland and the UK.
Mr Stanciu has a PhD in Gynaecological Oncology and is an ESGO accredited sub-specialist Gynaecological Oncology Surgeon.
He is the first Robotic Surgeon with dual accreditation on both Versius and da Vinci systems by the Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery (SERGS).
Mr Stanciu holds the International Ovarian Tumour Analysis (IOTA) Certificate in Ultrasonography for pelvic masses. His interests range from diagnosis to treatment of complex ovarian masses.
At West Herts, Mr Stanciu is performing some of the most advanced robotic surgeries. As a result our hospital has become a national referral centre for Versius Robotic Surgery.
Mr Stanciu is a Preceptor for CMR Surgical and is often invited at national and international conferences to share his expertise.
Apart from gynaecological cancers he also treats deep infiltrative endometriosis (DIE) and complex gynaecological problems.
As a cancer surgeon, Mr Stanciu is a member of the Gynaecological Multidisciplinary Team at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. He performs over 150 major cancer surgeries per year.
